t the Grand Victorian of Crystal Lake, Goebel Design Group led a comprehensive refresh of the lobby, adjacent gathering areas, and upper-level library and billiards rooms. The goal was to unify the expansive but segmented spaces into a cohesive social core—one that feels vibrant, fresh, and oxygenated.

We introduced a refreshed carpet scheme and updated furniture that establishes harmony across the multiple zones, using color, scale, and pattern to tie them together. Furnishings were selected for comfort and durability, with layered textures and warm accents to invite residents to linger. Subtle zoning helps distinguish activity areas without interrupting visual flow, and sightlines were preserved so that upper-level spaces still engage with the heart of the lobby below.

The result is a lobby and common zone that feels renewed but rooted in purpose: a lively, comfortable hub where residents can meet, relax, and connect.
